All text, images, audio, video and multimedia are considered objects in the Smart Notebook Software. This includes objects included among the built in Smart Gallery and anything you might add or create within the notebook's pages Each object has numerous properties that can be manipulated and modified to create more enriching presentations.

Once something is added to the Notebook work area it becomes an Object. This includes:
  • Typing text.
  • Drawing or writing in the work area with a pen tool.
  • Creating geometric shapes with the Smart Toolbar drawing tools.
  • Inserting content from the Gallery, your computer or the internet.
